Using an algaecide is like an insurance policy. While you intend to maintain the right sanitizer level at all times, life happens and any number of things can deplete your chlorine levels and cause an algae outbreak. With a preventative like FROG 90-Day Algae Barrier in the pool, you are protected from that happening.
Using an algaecide frees up the chlorine to focus on killing bacteria, which lowers your overall chlorine usage and demand
