The @ease System combines the proven FROG mineral formula for killing bacteria with SmartChlor Technology that maintains a consistently low chlorine level for weeks.

Unlike normal chlorine that is used up when you get in, SmartChlor continues to maintain the same level, which is up to 75%* less than hot tubs using dichlor (standard hot tub chlorine). That’s why we call it self-regulating.  It goes to work when the hot tub needs sanitizing so there are no frustrating yo-yo chlorine levels.  This time-released method is also why less shock is needed to maintain the hot tub.

This technology is so unique it has its own testing method that’s easier than standard test strips.

In 2 seconds, you can know precisely whether your pH, Total Alkalinity and Hardness are balanced, plus whether or not SmartChlor® needs replacing. Simply dip the FROG @ease Test Strip into the water, remove with the pads facing up and shake once to remove the water on the FROG Test Strips. Then hold it up next to the color chart on the back of the bottle to compare colors.

If the SmartChlor color on the strip is darker than the bottle label, the water is fine. If it is lighter it’s time to replace the Smartchlor Cartridge.

Hello! I'm here because, like so many others, my J-385 water is turning green after just 3 days of inactivity. This system is a bit expensive, and I'm using traditional chemicals on top of it. Then, I worry about what will happen when I go away for two weeks. I see customer support is reaching out to others. I would appreciate the same. Thanks!

We have been having the same problem. We got a J-345 back in May. We never were really able to get the chlorine in the proper range. We have adjusted the pH and I believe it is in the correct range. We were out of town in July and drained the hot tub. Started over about 2 weeks ago. Adjusted the pH again. Shocked a few days ago. Have set the smart Chlor on #7 and still it is low (the test strip is almost white).

We have a Jacuzzi J-365 and have constant green water. Drained and refilled, applied Metal-b-gone, shocked, changed cartridges, set cartridges to 7, cleaned filters, tested with strips from two different companies and still I have never had a test strip indicate that we have the correct amount of chlorine. The app always says 'check the silver cartridge to be sure it's not empty'. After checking the cartridge, it doesn't give any additional steps to try to resolve the low/non-existent chlorine level.

FROG @ease test strips will let you know when the silver SmartChlor Cartridge is empty—all you have to do is compare the Smartchlor color on the strip. If the color is lighter, it’s time to replace the SmartChlor Cartridge. I've been using this system for 3 months now. I've maintained other hot tubs in the past, and I'm familiar with other methods. My Jacuzzi dealer presented me with this Frog Ease made for Jacuzzi hot tubs when they delivered the tub. First month - I was sold. It was so easy. A little expensive, but I liked the feel and look of the water. I had no issues at all. Second and Third months - Now I'm struggling. Test strips never seem to indicate enough Chlorine. I've followed the trouble shooting steps for these "attach to filter" system. However the water will become cloudy, and it will take a few days of adding chemicals to get it clear again. I'm not sure what happened. I think the test strips maybe defective. Also, with this system I'm finding it's only available at one dealer in my area. They seem to charge double for the product :( I may look into the floating system.
