How would I get started with POOL FROG?

Your dealer would help you install a POOL FROG Cycler on your pool and supply you with the POOL FROG pacs that go inside. After that, it’s easy!  Simply replace the pacs when needed.

Which pacs fit the POOL FROG 6100 system?

Mineral: POOL FROG Mineral Reservoir 25K
Chlorine: POOL FROG Bac Pac

How long do the pacs last?

The POOL FROG Mineral Reservoir lasts 6 months or one pool season whichever is shorter. The POOL FROG Bac Pac will last 1-3 weeks; depending on the size of the pool and how often the pool is used.

Why should I use FROG BAM?

If you struggle with the mess of algae every summer, FROG BAM is the answer. FROG Bam is pre-filled and pre-measured to treat up to 15,000 gallons each; use multiple bottles to treat bigger pools. No algae for 90 days — guaranteed!

How does POOL FROG measure up to other pool sanitizing systems?

I’ve had the Frog on my pool lines since 2006(ish)… And can tell you, it works wonderfully and I wouldn’t try anything else. The mineral filter along with the chlorine cartridge, makes it so easy and my water always looks sharp! Seriously… It’s getting a little beat up now and will probably replace it as some of the plastic is cracking and stuff. But again, has served me very well and I would and do highly recommend the Frog when discussing pools with friends.

Works beautifully in the spa. This simple device replaced all of the chemicals we were using and it works 100 times better than they did!! We had no troubles with this and would recommend to anyone.

We love our Frog Leap. It makes pool life so easy with no muss of fuss. Changing a cartridge takes 30 seconds or less. No smell of chlorine or bromine and great on your skin and eyes

My mineral system is leaking from the top. I have tried tightening it but it’s still leaks. I probably have a faulty gasket. I am not happy.

      Hi Patrick,

I am sorry to hear about your leaking cap, I know that can be frustrating.

Often times when the Cap is leaking it due to a tear in the Cap O-Ring. The part # for the Pool FROG 6100 Cap O-Ring is 01-22-1926. You can buy the part at your local pool dealer, from an online dealer, or you can call us at 800-222-0169 and when can get that part sent out to you.
I hope this helps, if you have any other questions feel free to email us at customer.service@kingtechnology.com or call us at 800-222-0169.

i have been a pool owner for 18 years. Last year we had a new pool installed, and the Frog system was part of the pool package. It has reduced the constant need to balance pH, it has kept the pool correctly chlorinated and the water feels softer than my bath water. A great system, don’t know how I got along without it.

Our Frog Water system has not worked since we got it. It uses 1 Chlorine cartridge per week. Our dealer said he would get replaced and if has been 3 years now, and still no replacement. We have spent more money on chlorine than we should have had to. They said 6 cannisters would take care of the season. We bought about 16 per year.

      Hi Shawn,

I am sorry to hear about

The chlorine pac’s should last between 2-3 weeks. Since your chlorine pac’s are only lasting a week it indicates that either there is something in your water consuming the chlorine causing the chlorine pac’s to only last a week, or too much chlorine is being dispensed into your pool.

I recommend having your water tested to see if there are phosphates/nitrates in your water. Fertilizers often have nitrates/phosphates which are are food for algae. If there are phosphates/nitrates in your water than I recommend shocking your water with a chlorine shock or use an algaecide.

Another thing that can consume chlorine and cause the chlorine pac’s to only last a week is if the CYA level in your pool is too low. CYA protects the water from the sun which burns the chlorine away, for our systems the CYA level should be between 20-80 ppm. If your CYA level is below that I recommend adding some cyanuric acid to your pool.

If your chlorine level is above 1 ppm than too many chlorine tablets are getting wet causing over chlorination in your pool. There are several steps that can be taken to lower the chlorine level and help the chlorine pac’s last to the full 2-3 weeks. I first recommend shortening your pump run time to 6-10 hours a day and test your water to make sure the pH, alkalinity, and hardness are balanced.

If you lower your pump run time and you’re still experiencing over chlorination and short chlorine pac life, then high back pressure may be to blame. Back pressure is the force of water pushed back into your FROG through the size of your eyeball return. Back pressure should be between 4-8 psi, if it is above 8 psi then it means there is too much water inside the FROG that is wetting the chlorine and therefore over chlorinating your pool. To fix this you can change the eyeball fitting to one size larger, this will decrease the back pressure.

Down below I have attached a link to a video that goes into more detail about why you’re experiencing over chlorination and how to fix it.

I hope this helps, feel free to follow up with any other questions you may have.
