Hot tubs 150 to 600 are perfect for FROG Serene.

How does FROG Serene compare to other bromine floaters or using chlorine?
If you are tired of smelly chlorine odors and having to spoon in chemicals every time you use your hot tub, SPA FROG is for you. FROG Serene is not just bromine. It contains FROG minerals that destroy bacteria so you need up to 50% less bromine. The result is soft water without bleached suits or smelly odors.

How long do the mineral and bromine cartridges last?
The mineral cartridge lasts four months or whenever the hot tub is drained and refilled. The bromine cartridge lasts 2-4 weeks.

Can I remove SPA FROG from the spa when in use?
Yes. Simply turn it upside down on any surface so the water fills the green holder and doesn’t make a mess. Just remember to replace it when you exit the tub.

just bought my hot tub first week last November, I’ve been using the Frog floating system because that’s what was sold with it. I’ve had CONSTANT problems; just can’t get levels to sustain enough to take a reading. Take last Sunday, for example. Decided to just change out the water and start over. Drained & filled; put a brand new yellow Frog cartridge in set on 4, and let it set overnight. Next afternoon, the test strip said alkalinity 180 or more & bromine 0; so I added 2oz chlorinating granules and 2oz pH down and tested again in an hour. It tested alkalinity 120, and bromine was way over 20. Tested again in 3 hours and bromine was down to 10. Left it set overnight. Next afternoon, on Tuesday, it tested alkalinity 180, & bromine 10-20; added 2oz pH down and turned yellow cartridge down to 3. Around midnight, I used the tub for about 1.5 hours. Next afternoon, on Wednesday, it tested alkalinity 120 & bromine 0. The place that sold me the spa has been working with me this last water change. He told me he’d never heard of this happening before, and would get back to me after some research; haven’t heard back yet, I’m attempting my own research. I’ve thrown the algae theory out because there’s no slime in the tub. I’ve heard of chlorine turning bromides to bromines; and I’m wondering if leaving the Frog floater in the spa when I shock the tub can damage the bromine? I shower before I get in the spa. Please help, my local retailer seems baffled, and I’m certainly clueless…

I love the product. Switched to it from a chlorine base system. So much easier. Question – We also have a swim spa with a capacity of 1500 gal. We are currently on a chlorine system. Can you recommend a bromine system for that capacity. My hot tub is doing so great I am hoping for my swim spa to do the same. Thanks

    • Sarah Miller

      Hello Carl,

Unfortunately, we do not have a product designed for spas that are greater than 600 gallons.

I am having trouble with my water quality-I am using the spa frog system, but the ph tends to run low as does the chlorine and free chlorine levels. Does anyone have any ideas for me on what to do?

    • Sarah Miller

      Thanks for your comments.

Your bromine levels should be between 1-2ppm. If below, turn your cartridge up 1 setting. Your PH levels should be between 7.2-7.8. If they’re low your Alkalinity is likely low. Since Alkalinity is a measure of your waters ability to control PH begin by increasing your Alkalinity to between 80-180ppm. Your PH will rise as you increase Alkalinity and may fall into the correct range.

      Thanks,

      Sarah

I’m using this product. I have a lot of bubbles in my hot tub is that normal

    • Sarah Miller

      Hi,

The bubbles are not coming from the Spa FROG Floating System. If you have a lot of bubbles or foaming it’s coming from body oils in the water that react to the natural alkalinity and aeration in the spa causing foaming.

The best way to take care of foaming is to prevent it by reducing body oils in spa, avoiding headrest cleaners contact with water, and maintaining a low calcium level of around 150ppm.

      Hope that helps,

      Sarah

This is what makes having a spa worth it. I love things that are easy and simple and help take care of themselves. What a breakthrough! Putting in chemicals by hand every few days isn’t worth having a spa after a while.

LOVE THIS PRODUCT!!! My husband and I were new hot tub owners and having issues with keeping the PH right in our unit. Friends of ours gave us the start up kit of SPA FROG and we are never looking back. Easy and works perfectly. Recommend this product to everyone!!!!!
