FROG® @ease® for Bullfrog® Spas
Hot Tub Sanitizer Custom Designed for Bullfrog® Spas
Making life easier for Bullfrog Spa owners is the goal of this FROG @ease System that conveniently fits between the filter cartridges in most Bullfrog Spas. Cleaner, Clearer and Softer® water is just down the road at your local Bullfrog Spas dealer. With FROG Minerals and SmartChlor® Technology, you’ll enjoy Fresh Mineral Water®∞ that kills bacteria 2 ways with up to 75%* less chlorine and a lot less work!
Additional Information
In 2 seconds, you can know precisely whether your pH, Total Alkalinity and Hardness are balanced, plus whether or not SmartChlor® needs replacing. Simply dip the FROG @ease Test Strip into the water, remove with the pads facing up and shake once to remove the water on the FROG Test Strips. Then hold it up next to the color chart on the back of the bottle to compare colors.
If the SmartChlor color on the strip is darker than the bottle label, the water is fine. If it is lighter it’s time to replace the Smartchlor Cartridge.

Time will tell, but I wish I’d have read all these reviews before ordering. I have an 8 y/o Model 462 that my Trichlor floater has partially ruined by “bleaching out” some of the inner shell water line and Jetpack seats. My local dealer told me that Bullfrog now voids your warranty if you use a floater. So I ordered one of these and some new Pillows and Snapcaps to get away from doing any more damage. But after reading the reviews, I’m starting I wish I would have just stayed with the floater, used less tablets in it, and made sure to keep the top open when shocking … since I’m way out of the warranty period anyway. Sounds like I’m going to be spending a lot of extra money I can’t afford on cartridges, not to mention the plastic waste.

RIPOFF!!!!! Total ripoff. Last 2 weeks MAX. Ok maybe 15 days, then instantly cloudy. If I didn’t supplement with additional chlorine and shock, it would only last 10 days max. $20???….. It should be about $7 as we ALL seem to need about 2 to 3 monthly. Please don’t respond with water balancing as being the issue. I’ve had spas before and know what I’m doing and even hired a professional to manage it for a while. Same result.. Simply put, it is WAY too expensive guys. We all paid top dollar for your “American Made” Spa and with that this is what is expected. Please correct. A spa is for relaxation… It shouldn’t be another source of stress in our lives.

Sorry to hear about your longevity issues. It most likely is due to a water balancing issue. Take a look at our free water balancing guide here.
• If you are constantly adjusting the dial setting on the Smartchlor cartridge up and down it will run through the chlorine faster, instead let the self-regulating system and spa do its job.
• Running the filtration cycle too often can also have an effect on this, make sure you have the settings on what your Bullfrog Spa manual recommends.
Hope this helps! There are lots of variables and different possible situations to run through. If you are still having issues please give our customer service team a call at 800-222-0169.

Too expensive, doesn’t last nearly as long as advertised. All the extra packaging. Allow people to refill, or make them last longer

Wish I had read these reviews before purchasing our bullfrog spa. This system lasts half as long as advertised even when the spa has had limited to no use. If we ever have another spa purchase it will be a spa that does not use frogease. I can only hope that they develop a way to refill the cartridges to make them more affordable and more environmentally friendly

I too am extremely disappointed in how fast I go through cartridges for only two people with very little usage. I find it extremely hard to find replacement cartridges and the cost just keeps going up. Only had my A8 less a little over a year and feeling my choice in spas was a mistake. I’m was sold on the ease of maintaining and getting products but that is not true.

Overpriced, wasteful and an unnecessary “benefit” on the Bullfrog spa.

I have had the system for 2 weeks. I guess we are heavy users as we use daily and sometimes multiple times per day. Knowing this I increased the chlorine to 4, but each day I check with a stick, and it’s low. I add Spa56 and I’m back to normal again. I guess if I didn’t have the cartridge, I’d be doing this a lot more, but not sure how the costs would add up. We love our tub, and I’m more than ok with checking water, shocking minimum once per week, sometimes 2, using defender and clarifier weekly. . . It’s a lot, but the water quality is important. I wish the system would be better and add more chlorine, but at least I know there is always a minimum there 🤷🏼♂️

I agree with all of the not so stellar reviews. This system is sold as a benefit, but we do not get more than two weeks out of a cartridge and they are EXPENSIVE! It hurts my heart to throw away all that plastic. Refillable cartridges should be a thing and the chemicals should not cost so much!

Hi there, thanks for your review. We are always evaluating options to be more eco-friendly. As our products are chemicals that are regulated by the EPA, they must meet very strict regulations to protect people. We’d love to talk with you about the benefits, if you will please call us or email us, we have more information that would help. Dan Mosier, who heads up customer service, will talk with you if you call him at 800-222-0169 or reply if you send him an email at dan.mosier@kingtechnology.com

Hi, just wanted to say I love this setup. However in my BULLFROG A9L IT ONLY LAST US ABOUT 2 WEEKS, WITH THE CARTRIDGES NOT BEING REFILLABLE I FIND IT A HUGE WASTE OF PLASTIC. ALSO NOT SURE IF EVERYONE IN FAMILY PEES IN OR SPA, BUT I FEEL LIKE I SHOULD BE ABLE TO GET MORE THAN 2 WEEKS OUT OF THEM. OTHER THAN THAT IT’S GREAT.
Dori Lentz –
Too much plastic waste. Would prefer a refillable unit with bulk chemical buy at a reduced rate. Too expensive, not environmentally friendly
Wayni Tao –
Hi Dori, we’re thankful for your review. We have a team of engineers working on environmentally friendly options for the future that will continue to protect people from chemicals. Because all our products are EPA-regulated, we are required to follow very strict guidelines. We’d truly like the opportunity to talk with you about our products’ ability to effectively sanitize your hot tub – including how you can use less of chlorine. Please email us or give us a call. Dan can be reached at 800-222-0169 or dan.mosier@kingtechnology.com. He heads up customer service and he’d really like to help you get the most from your FROG @ease system.
