Additional Information

The @ease System combines the proven FROG mineral formula for killing bacteria with SmartChlor Technology that maintains a consistently low chlorine level for weeks.

Unlike normal chlorine that is used up when you get in, SmartChlor continues to maintain the same level which is up to 75% less than hot tubs using Dichlor (standard hot tub chlorine). That’s why we call it self-regulating.  It goes to work when the hot tub needs sanitizing so there are no frustrating yo-yo chlorine levels.  This time-released method is also why less shock is needed to maintain the hot tub.

This technology is so unique it has its own testing method that’s easier than standard test strips.

In 2 seconds, you can know precisely whether your pH, Total Alkalinity and Calcium Hardness are balanced, plus whether SmartChlor® needs replacing. Simply dip the FROG @ease Test Strip into the water, remove with the pads facing up and shake once to remove the water on the FROG Test Strips. Then put it up to the color chart on the bottle and compare.

If the SmartChlor color on the strip is darker than the bottle label, the water is fine. If it is lighter it’s time to replace the Smartchlor Cartridge.

This technology is so unique it has its own testing method that’s easier than standard test strips.

I too am extremely disappointed in how fast I go through cartridges for only two people with very little usage. I find it extremely hard to find replacement cartridges and the cost just keeps going up. Only had my A8 less a little over a year and feeling my choice in spas was a mistake. I’m was sold on the ease of maintaining and getting products but that is not true.

Overpriced, wasteful and an unnecessary “benefit” on the Bullfrog spa.

I agree with all the reviews! The chlorine disappears way too quickly and this is getting too costly. I almost feel like I have been tricked. Please provide a way to refill them. I love my tub, but not this system. what about using a floating system in my hot tub?

I have had the system for 2 weeks. I guess we are heavy users as we use daily and sometimes multiple times per day. Knowing this I increased the chlorine to 4, but each day I check with a stick, and it’s low. I add Spa56 and I’m back to normal again. I guess if I didn’t have the cartridge, I’d be doing this a lot more, but not sure how the costs would add up. We love our tub, and I’m more than ok with checking water, shocking minimum once per week, sometimes 2, using defender and clarifier weekly. . . It’s a lot, but the water quality is important. I wish the system would be better and add more chlorine, but at least I know there is always a minimum there 🤷🏼‍♂️

I agree with all of the not so stellar reviews. This system is sold as a benefit, but we do not get more than two weeks out of a cartridge and they are EXPENSIVE! It hurts my heart to throw away all that plastic. Refillable cartridges should be a thing and the chemicals should not cost so much!

Hi, just wanted to say I love this setup. However in my BULLFROG A9L IT ONLY LAST US ABOUT 2 WEEKS, WITH THE CARTRIDGES NOT BEING REFILLABLE I FIND IT A HUGE WASTE OF PLASTIC. ALSO NOT SURE IF EVERYONE IN FAMILY PEES IN OR SPA, BUT I FEEL LIKE I SHOULD BE ABLE TO GET MORE THAN 2 WEEKS OUT OF THEM. OTHER THAN THAT IT’S GREAT.

Too much plastic waste. Would prefer a refillable unit with bulk chemical buy at a reduced rate. Too expensive, not environmentally friendly

I really wanted to like it, having twice given the system a fair trial over two seasons, I found the water gets filthy after two months (and I am well experienced with testing and balancing recreational water manually). You have to change the mineral cartridge if you dump the tub water, which makes a non-event rather expensive. @ease provides a constant background chlorine level – great! But the system by itself it’s not potent enough to oxidize “bather waste” – skin oils, sweat, etc, which over time build up and make your water cloudy and foamy. MPS shock and clarifiers are the crutches and wouldn’t be necessary if you could actually boost the chlorine levels after a soak. The convenience of @ease is offset by the price, limited availability, plastic waste, and having to battle dirty water over time.

You consumers have spoken; great product, too much plastic waste. Sell a refillable floater and refill SmartChlor and Mineral packets.

I originally gave this system a four star review for the ease of use and maintenance. I am updating it to a two star review now that I have been using the product for several months. The cartridges are expensive and don’t last as long as the manufacture says they will. I’m the only person using my tub and I’m lucky to get three weeks out of the chlorine cartridge before it’s empty and once it is empty the water will turn cloudy. This typically wouldn’t be a big deal if it would clear up with a simple shock treatment and a new chlorine cartridge, but it usually takes 3 – 4 days and a heavy shock treatment (or two) before the water is clear and I’m comfortable in using the tub again. I do wish that there was some sort of warning or indicator when the chlorine is getting low and it was more affordable and/or refillable.
