Additional Information

The @ease System combines the proven FROG mineral formula for killing bacteria with SmartChlor Technology that maintains a consistently low chlorine level for weeks.

Unlike normal chlorine that is used up when you get in, SmartChlor continues to maintain the same level which is up to 75% less than hot tubs using Dichlor (standard hot tub chlorine). That’s why we call it self-regulating.  It goes to work when the hot tub needs sanitizing so there are no frustrating yo-yo chlorine levels.  This time-released method is also why less shock is needed to maintain the hot tub. When the SmartChlor Cartridge is depleted the system will flip over as a visual reminder to replace the empty cartridge with a new one.

This technology is so unique it has its own testing method that’s easier than standard test strips.

In 2 seconds, you can know precisely whether your pH, Total Alkalinity and Calcium Hardness are balanced, plus whether SmartChlor® needs replacing. Simply dip the FROG @ease Test Strip into the water, remove with the pads facing up and shake once to remove the water on the FROG Test Strips. Then put it up to the color chart on the bottle and compare.

If the SmartChlor color on the strip is darker than the bottle label, the water is fine. If it is lighter it’s time to replace the Smartchlor Cartridge.

What size hot tub will FROG @ease work in?

Hot tubs 150 to 600 are perfect for FROG @ease.

How does FROG @ease compare to bromine in a feeder or using chlorine?

With standard chemicals you experience peaks and valleys in your sanitizing routine.  When you add chemical, the level spikes, when you use the tub, the level drops. This yo-yo method goes away with FROG @ease because it maintains the same level of sanitizing from day 1 until the day the system flips over and it’s time to replace the SmartChlor Cartridge.

How can it work so well with 75% less chlorine?

SmartChlor is not a typical chlorine.  It will consistently maintain a 0.5 to 1.0 ppm free chlorine level. This would not be enough on its own; but with FROG minerals, it’s a perfect combination that kills bacteria 2 ways so you have a cleaner, clearer hot tub that’s wonderfully soft and odor free!

How long do the Mineral and SmartChlor cartridges last?

The mineral cartridge lasts four months or whenever the hot tub is drained and refilled. This comes in a new FROG @ease System kit.  The SmartChlor Cartridge lasts 3-4 weeks depending on the size of your tub and how often it is used. This is sold in a convenient 3-pack.

Is a FROG @ease System expensive?

SmartChlor is slightly more expensive than dichlor but less than other systems. Consumers who have tried it tell us it is SO worth the money because it makes owning a hot tub extremely easy with far less monitoring and no shocking for an entire month. You save time and the cost of shock treatments plus with up to 75% less chlorine, your suits won’t fade and your hot tub itself has less wear and tear.

Can I remove FROG @ease from the hot tub when I’m relaxing in the water?

Yes. Simply set it on a surface that is not susceptible to bleaching and remember to replace it when you exit the tub.

The Frog system is very easy and keeps the chlorine consistent. Easy to know when to replace when it flips upside down. I do move arrow from 1 to 4 to make sure all the chlorine is gone. And let it float that way for awhile. It seems to flip premature sometimes. It lasts 3 to 4 weeks. I have used the grandulars and tablets before but u have to test all the time. Now only testing for Ph. Makes it easy to go away on vacation with piece of mind. Water stays clear and soft. Do use water clarifier and metal/stain once a week for maintenance. Just a capful of each. So much easier to keep the chemicals in check and water clear! I will never go back to the old way. I love the jump start packet too! Helps to get the “new fill” water off to an easier start😀

I am a bit confused as to what number I should put my dial on my floating Frog @Ease system because the manual/instructions say one thing but my authorized dealer says another. If I put it on a 2 according to the instructions, then I can see the residue floating on top of the water so my authorized dealer instructs me to drop it down to 0 and then add sanitizer after every use. Very confusing.

      Hi Chad,

I am sorry to hear about your confusion with the @ease Floating System.

The chart on the @ease manual for dial settings is just a suggestion. How often your spa is used and how many people are using it, can all be factors in what setting the SmartChlor should be set to. The dial can always be adjusted to fit your spas needs, but the free chlorine always needs to between .5-1 ppm to properly sanitize your water.

The @ease system uses SmartChlor technology, meaning it self-regulates when the spa needs chlorine, thus using up to 75% less than spas using dichloride/bromine. Because of this you can turn your dial to a lower setting and the @ease will pull from the reserve to keep the free chlorine level between .5-1 ppm.

Regarding how often you should use a sanitizer, we recommend shocking your spa with a non-chlorine shock whenever you replace the SmartChlor cartridge (3-4 weeks). Shocking every time you use the spa in not needed with the @ease system.

I hope this helps, feel free to follow up with any questions you may have.

I like the frog system though even when it is wide open, it doesn’t seem to maintain the levels for my hot tub. I will say though, that it is easy to use and monitor and it really isn’t that big a deal to toss in some shock every week or so.
