25 Ways to Get Ready for Pool Fun

Yes, it’s time to open your pool! No doubt, you’ve got a checklist handy – if not, see your dealer, they’ll help you get your pool ready.

Since FROG celebrates 25 years this year, we’ve got a list of 25 things to make your pool season even better.

But first, we hope you’ve either replaced your FROG Leap^® Anti-Bac Mineral Pac^® or have plans to do so. That will ensure clean, clear water all season.

Now, check out these 25 items and when those long, warm sunny summer days beckon, you’ll be ready to simply enjoy them.

1. Beach towels – Seems you can never have enough. Throw the old torn, hopelessly dirty ones, and pick up a few new bright colored ones. Everyone loves a new beach towel.
2. A clothesline or “towel rack,” in other words, someplace to hang those wet towels to dry; be ready, wet towels happen!
3. Flip flops – keep toes and feet clean and happy!
4. Band-Aids – speaking of stubbing toes, keep a fresh box and a handy first aid kit at the ready.
5. New sunscreen – you want it to be effective. Keep a couple bottles handy.
6. Lip balm with SPF. If you’ve ever sunburned your lips, you’ll know first-hand how important this is.
7. Soothing lotion – because someone is bound to get sunburned.
8. Aloe Vera is known to soothe – keep a potted plant so you’re ready with the all-natural stuff.
9. Hats – when the sun shines in, you’ll want to shade your eyes. Visors work too.
10. Sunglasses – if you don’t have them, you’ll wish you did. Scoop up some fun ones and keep a stash for everyone.
11. Hair ties – scrunchies are inexpensive and keep the hair under control.
12. Keep a big basket for all the hats, sunglasses, hair ties, sunscreen and lip balm.
13. Bug spray or essential oils known to ward off bugs.
14. Lanterns – with candles or electric; it will get dark and you may want to linger at the pool.
15. Pool noodles – even adults like pool noodles. They’re easy to store and inexpensive, plus provide tons of ways to have fun.
16. Plastic cups – don’t get caught without them, people are always thirsty and keep glass away from the pool.
17. Extra swim trunks and super stretch one-piece almost one-size fits all swimsuits. Yes, people should bring their own, but if they forget, wearing street clothes in the pool just spells trouble.
18. Chairs and loungers. Check yours out, clean, repair or buy new.
19. Waterproof speaker– people want tunes and if they’re not waterproof, there will be trouble. Waterproof speakers come in all sizes, shapes and prices.
20. Floats – they come in pizzas, donuts, swans and flamingos. They’re fun and comfy.
21. Coolers – maybe you have a stack but check them out. Clean them up and get some new ones if the old ones aren’t up to holding ice and beverages.
22. Pool toys – diving sticks, balls, and maybe even bubbles. Kids of all ages like to play. Make sure they play with playthings and not whatever they can find, like your golf balls or garden rocks.
23. A wastebasket! Yes … provide one so garbage goes there, and not around your pool area.
24. A cleaning net – not the most fun item on the list, but essential. Just like landing a big fish, scooping out pool debris will keep everyone happy.
25. A pool is an investment and a great opportunity to connect with people. When everything goes perfect, be thankful, when things don’t go like you’d wish they would, find something to be thankful for. It’s a learned behavior that you can practice every day and an investment that gives the best, most sure returns possible.
