FROG® Jump Start®
Single Dose Start-Up Shock for Hot Tubs
Our start-up hot tub shock comes in a single, easy-to-pour packet. No more measuring out capfuls per your gallon size. Once in the water, FROG Jump Start quickly dissolves before it hits the bottom of the hot tub so it won’t bleach surfaces. You can see the bubbles as it goes to work providing an initial chlorine level for your freshly filled hot tub. Using FROG Jump Start ®takes the load off your FROG @ease® SmartChlor® Cartridge or FROG Serene® Bromine Cartridge so they last a bit longer.

In the instructions it says to shock once per week. Is this what I use !500 gal. Hot tub. The floating system works great. We use ours every night. Need a shock treatment once a week. Thanks

I had the same thing happen to me using the shock for our 350 gal hot tub, when I tested the water, the chlorine level was at 5. So I’m running the jets and leaving the cover off, but do I insert my cartridges now, even though the chlorine is high, or wait for the chlorine to come down? Thank you.
Tom Sager –
Hi Kristi,
Please wait 24 hours after adding Jump Start to re-test your water. You can insert the cartridges immediately after shocking. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
Thank you.

Our dealer said to only shock when we refill every 4 months. You say you can monthly, if soWould it damage the south seas spa? Also my dealer sells the silver colored chorine but on the internat it’s yellow, what’s the difference? Thx
Dave –
Hi,
So if my spa is 225 gallons, I should only use half of the Spa Frog jump start?
Thank you,
Dave
Tom Sager –
Hi Dave,
We recommend that you use the entire packet of Jump Start for your spa, regardless of the size.
Thank you.

After filling and using jump start, do you wait until the next day to add the bromine cartridge and mineral catridge?
Sarah Miller –
Hello,
After you shock the spa with Jump Start, you can insert the cartridges immediately. Set and keep the Mineral Cartridge on 6; Bromine Cartridge set on 3 or 4 and then adjust to stay within 1-2ppm Bromine level.
Please wait 24 hours after shocking to test the water. Also, please do not use the spa for 24 hours anytime you use Jump Start.
Thanks,
Sarah

Put packet in 200 gal spa. Chlorine way above 5+ now. To have a warning to not get in spa if above 3ppm. Now we have a brand new spa we can’t use for a undetermined period until levels decrease. To say this jumpstart packet works on any size spa is bizarre. To have a health warning against chlorine levels above 3 and then instruct to put A 500 gal dose in my 200gal spa, the result is chlorine at a dangerous level.

We apologize for the inconvenience. We will take a look at our Jump Start instructions. But the good news is chlorine levels in hot tubs can dissipate fairly quickly. Keep the cover off and check levels in a day or so. Running the jets may speed things up. If you need to use the tub sooner, consider draining some of the water and adding fresh water. That will reduce the level right away.
Please follow up with me and let me know if there is anything else we can try to help with.
