I don’t understand why people say they can’t order it online. I just ordered my spring and summer set up from Bullfrog today with a set of back up filters just incase. Happy Bullfrog owner of an A7 with two loungers. So my wife and I don’t fight over one lol. Easiest set up and operation of any space have had. Almost brainless care. We are very happy with Bullfrog and their products. 5 stars.

- Drain and refill the spa if switching from a bromine or biguanides or if your cyanuric acid level is higher than 80 ppm. Heat to the manufacturer’s recommended temperature.
- Test the water using FROG @ease Test Strips.
- Balance the water to ideal ranges: Total Alkalinity (80–120 ppm), pH (7.2–7.8), and Total Hardness (150–250 ppm).
- Establish initial chlorine by adding one packet of FROG Jump Start® start-up shock per 600 gallons with the jets running.
- Blue Mineral Cartridge: Set the dial fully open to position 6.
- Silver SmartChlor Cartridge: Remove from its bag and turn the dial to the setting that matches your hot tub model number, per your manual’s chart.
- Remove the filter snap cap. Hold weir door/filter plate out into the hot tub slightly or remove from the hot tub.Snap the FROG @ease Mineral and SmartChlor Cartridges on either side of the cartridge holder. With the silver FROG @ease SmartChlor Cartridge facing the inside of the hot tub, insert the cartridge holder between the filter cartridges and push down until it stays in place.
- Move the weir door back in place and replace the filter snap cap.

With standard chemicals, you experience peaks and valleys in your sanitizing routine. When you add chemical, the level spikes. When you use the tub, the level drops. This yo-yo method goes away with FROG @ease because it maintains the same level of sanitizing from day 1 until the day the SmartChlor Cartridge is empty.
SmartChlor is a unique, patented type of chlorine. It will consistently maintain a 0.5 to 1.0 ppm free chlorine level as long as the pH is balanced. This would not be enough on its own; but with FROG Sanitizing Minerals, it’s a perfect combination that kills bacteria with minerals and a low level of chlorine that create Cleaner, Clearer, Softer® water.
The blue Mineral Cartridge lasts up to four months. The silver SmartChlor Cartridge typically lasts 3 – 4 weeks. When the SmartChlor Cartridge is depleted, the FROG @ease Test Strip will be a lighter purple color than the test strip bottle label. That is your cue that it’s time for replacement.
SmartChlor is slightly more expensive than dichlor but less than other systems. SmartChlor offers a nearly hands-off experience that automatically maintains consistent sanitizer levels, saving you time and guesswork while delivering clearer, more comfortable water with minimal effort. And with up to 75% less chlorine*, your suits won’t fade and your hot tub has less wear and tear.
Keeping your hot tub balanced will extend the life of your SmartChlor Cartridge. Keep pH under 7.6. Over circulation could also deplete the cartridge faster.
