FROG DropH™ pH Decreaser
pH decreaser for hot tubs or swim spas
pH balance is key to clear water. By dropping high pH levels back into the ideal range of 7.2-7.6, it prevents cloudy water, scaling and equipment damage, while ensuring sanitizers work at peak performance.

- Granular hot tub or swim spa chemical
- FROG TruDose Cap™ with built-in measurements
- Compatible with all FROG sanitizing systems
- Test water weekly with a test kit or test strips.
- Check Alkalinity: If higher than 120 ppm, check the dosage chart on the FROG DropH bottle to determine how much is needed to bring Total Alkalinity down to the right range of 80–120 ppm.
- Measure the dose: Use the FROG TruDose Cap™ to measure the correct amount.
- Add to water: Turn the jets on and pour the measured product directly into the water while the hot tub or swim spa is empty of people.
- Circulate and retest: Run the jets for 30 minutes, then test the water again in 2 hours. If the Total Alkalinity is now in the correct range but the pH is still high, check the dosage chart again to determine how much more FROG DropH is needed to lower pH and add that amount to the water.
- Repeat: Repeat Step 5 until the pH is in the ideal range of 7.2–7.6.

Use FROG DropH whenever your pH is higher than 7.6 or your Total Alkalinity is higher than 120 ppm. The ideal range for pH is 7.2 to 7.6 and for Total Alkalinity is 80 to 120 ppm. See the handy dosage chart on the bottle for hot tub or swim spa gallon sizes.
DropH is a fun way of saying this product will drop or decrease your pH whenever it is above the ideal range. It also works to lower Total Alkalinity levels.
This pH and Total Alkalinity Decreaser comes in a bottle with the FROG TruDose Cap and an easy to read dosage chart which makes it much easier to measure out the right amount for each individual hot tub or swim spa.

1 bottle of FROG DropH pH and Total Alkalinity Decreaser
pH is the measure of how acidic or basic (alkaline) your hot tub or swim spa water is. Low pH levels are acidic. High levels are alkaline. When balancing hot tub or swim spa water, pH is always tested and adjusted after Total Alkalinity is balanced to 80-120 ppm. Then, always maintain a pH of 7.2-7.6.
pH affects the ability for sanitizers to kill bacteria efficiently. At a neutral pH of 7.2-7.6. sanitizers work at their best. Lower or higher than that, sanitizers lose their effectiveness which can cause cloudy or green water. An unbalanced pH level will also create a harsh feeling in the water, and hot tub or swim spa surfaces and equipment can experience corrosion or scaling.
High pH can come from the water you use to fill the hot tub or swim spa, but often it comes from running the jets. Every time you use your hot tub or swim spa, the jets are aerating the water, which drives pH up. Sometimes it can be caused by using too much pH Increaser when trying to raise the pH.
Over time, high pH levels can cause scaling on your filters, plugs, pipes, jets and other equipment. Water scale can reduce the water circulation, which increases water pressure and puts a strain on hot tub or swim spa equipment. High pH will also make maintaining proper sanitizer levels very difficult, as it decreases the effectiveness of chemicals like chlorine.
