Effective defoamer for hot tubs or swim spas

Surface foam in hot tubs or swim spas is a result of soaps, cosmetics, detergents and other inanimate contaminants entering the water. FROG Defoamer quickly and completely eliminates foam, helping keep water clean, comfortable and free from irritating residues.

  1. Apply product: Squirt 1 oz of FROG Defoamer directly onto the visible foam areas and into the hot tub or swim spa water.
  2. Circulate the water with the cover off for 15 minutes to make sure the shock is dissolved in the water.
  3. Re-treat if needed: Wait a short time to check results. Add another ounce if the bubbles do not go away.
  4. Check water quality: If bubbles return, check your water balance, test Total Hardness (aim for at least 150 ppm) or shock the water with a non-chlorine treatment like FROG Maintain® .
  5. Drain and refill: If foaming will not stop and it has been more than a few months since your last water change, purge, empty and refill the hot tub or swim spa with fresh water.
