Directions for Use

Before use:

Balance pH to 7.2–7.8 and Total Alkalinity to 80–120 ppm.

Check metals: Test for copper levels first. If copper level is over 0.2 ppm, take measures to get the level under 0.2 ppm before using. Do not use with other copper-based products.

Calculate dosage: Use 1 pod per 10,000 gallons of pool water.

Clean the filter: Backwash or clean your filter and clear all debris out of the skimmer and pump baskets.

Place the pod: Drop the correct number of pods directly into the skimmer basket.
Run the pump: Keep the pool pump and filter running continuously for at least 24 hours to help the dry formula disperse.
Disposal: Remove empty pod and discard on your next visit.

Ongoing Care

For killing active algae: Raise free chlorine to 3–5 ppm. Clean or backwash the filter after 24 hours to remove dead debris.
For prevention: Do not clean or backwash the filter for at least 2 weeks after use and use a new pod every 6 months.

Typically, in a few hours — no more than 24. The empty pod will float to the top of the skimmer where it can be easily removed and discarded on you next service call.

When using FROG Algae Blocker 4Pro to remove algae from the water, use 1 pod for every 10,000 gallons of water and increase the free chlorine level to between 2 ppm and 4 ppm with a pH level between 7.2 and 7.8. After 24 hours, clean or backwash the filter to get rid of the dead algae.

When you use FROG Algae Blocker 4Pro as a preventative application, start with a clean filter and make sure sanitizer levels are in the correct range. Drop 1 pod for every 10,000 gallons of water in the skimmer every 6 months. Do not clean or backwash the filter for at least 2 weeks after using the pod.

Make sure the bucket is sealed and always store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area until ready to use. It’s important to keep the desiccants in the bucket, do not discard them.

If you are using Algae Blocker 4Pro as a curative, be sure to backwash or clean your filter first, then use the Algae Blocker rPro before adding any other pods.

If you are using Algae Blocker 4Pro as a preventative, you may use it at the same time as the Phosphate Remover and Clarifier. In this case, place all 3 pods in the skimmer together after backwashing or cleaning the filter. Do not backwash or clean the filter again for at least 2 weeks after using the pods

Competitive products often feature the same formula, but do not include enough to maintain an algae-free pool for up to 6 months, and therefore require more applications.
