Directions for Use

Connect the cartridges: Line up the arrows on both cartridges, push together and lock.
Set the dial: Twist the dial on the SmartChlor^® Cartridge to the setting number matching your hot tub (see the gallon chart in your manual).
Place in the water: Let it free float, or use a tether to attach to the side of the hot tub.

Optional — remove while soaking: If you like, lift the system out while soaking and let it drain into the water. Set it on a surface not susceptible to chlorine bleaching and remember to return it afterward.

Replacing Cartridges

SmartChlor+: Lasts about 3–4 weeks for an average 400-gallon hot tub. When the system flips completely over, remove and replace with a new one.
FROG Sanitizing Minerals^®: Replace every 4 months or when draining/refilling — even if minerals appear to remain inside.

The blue Mineral Cartridge lasts up to 4 months. The dark silver SmartChlor+ Cartridge that contains 10% more SmartChlor should last 3 – 4 weeks on large hot tubs and potentially longer on smaller hot tubs. When the SmartChlor+ Cartridge is depleted, the floater flips over, providing a clear visual cue that it’s time for replacement.

Keeping your hot tub balanced will extend the life of your SmartChlor+ Cartridge. Keep pH under 7.6. Over circulation, like being pulled into the filter well, will also deplete the cartridge faster. We recommend using a tether.
