Opening Your Pool
1. Balance Your Water
Keep Total Alkalinity at 80–120 ppm, pH between 7.2 and 7.8 and Total Hardness 200-400 ppm.
2. Check Stabilizer (Cyanuric Acid) Levels
Ask your pool dealer to test your stabilizer level. Cyanuric Acid (CYA) helps prevent chlorine from being burned off by the sun. The FROG® Chlorine Torpedo Pac® contains CYA. For some pools, this may be enough.
3. Shock the Pool
Use a chlorine shock treatment to remove contaminants and establish a baseline chlorine level
4. Insert new FROG Leap Anti-Bac Mineral Pac
This kills bacteria for 6 months.
5. Use Pool Wake Up! Kit
Kit includes 3 easy steps. Each product takes 60-90 minutes to evenly dispense:
- Depth Charge removes contaminants
- Reveille creates an initial chlorine residual
- All-Out® prevents algae for 90 days — guaranteed
6. Insert a Chlorine Torpedo Pac
Set the dial based on your pool size and pump run time per the chart in your manual.
7. Test for Phosphates
Phosphates feed algae. If they run high, try FROG 90-Day Goodbye Phos® – a simple Pool Pod you drop in the skimmer for 90 days of protection against phosphate buildup.
