How to Start-Up Your Hot Tub with FROG Serene®

A FROG Serene Floating System and a spare cartridge rest on the edge of a hot tub while a person fills it with a hose.
  1. Fill the Hot Tub and Check Hardness
    After draining and cleaning, fill the hot tub with fresh water and check your Hardness level first. If higher than 250 ppm, ask your dealer for a stain and scale preventor and follow the directions on the product.
  2. Balance the Water: Always start by balancing your water. Use FROG Balancing Basics® Kit to adjust levels. Download the guide on our website.
  3. Shock the Water: Add FROG Jump Start® to establish clean, sanitized water.
  4. Start with a fresh Mineral Cartridge: Always begin with a fresh Mineral Cartridge, which lasts up to 4 months. Adjust to the highest setting and insert into the opening of the FROG Serene Floating System holder.
  5. Insert your FROG Serene Bromine Cartridge: Adjust to setting #3 and insert into the other opening. Monitor your bromine levels for a few days, testing regularly and adjusting until you maintain a 1.0 – 2.0 ppm level.
  6. Place the System in the Water: Simply place the FROG Serene Floating Sanitizing System in your hot tub. When the system tilts to the side, it’s time to replace the Bromine Cartridge.
