Wait Period: If you recently used FROG® Algae Gone® or FROG® 90-Day Algae Barrier® wait at least 2 weeks before adding FROG 90-Day GoodBye Phos.

  1. Test your water. Use a phosphate test kit or pool store test. Record your level (ppb). Each treatment of phosphate remover is intended to remove 1,000 ppb (1 ppm) of phosphates per 10,000 gallons, so depending on your initial level of phosphates, and size of your pool, multiple treatments may be required to achieve a target range.
  2. Clean and vacuum your pool. Skim any organic material from the pool, scrub the side walls to loosen any debris and vacuum your pool
  3. Balance your water: Confirm that chlorine levels are within the proper range and that pH is between 7.2–7.8.
  4. Clean or backwash the filter. Start with a clean filter so it can capture the particles that bind with the phosphate remover.
  5. Add FROG® 90-Day GoodBye Phos® Pool Pod. Follow the product label for dosage instructions.
  6. Run the pump. Run your pump continuously for 24-48 hours. This allows the phosphate remover to circulate, bind to particles and be removed by the filter.
  7. Monitor pump pressure and clean the filter again. If pressure increases by 8-10 psi, stop pump and clean filter. Once clean, re-activate the pump and run for remaining time. When complete, backwash and clean filter
  8. Retest phosphate levels. Re-check your phosphate levels after 1-2 days. If your phosphate levels remain high, repeat treatment. If your pool water is still cloudy after reaching the target range for phosphates, you may need to add FROG® 90-Day GoodBye Cloudy® to achieve a clear and sparkling pool.
  9. Swim ready. Your pool is safe to swim in 30 minutes after adding your pods to the skimmer basket.
  10. After 24 hours remove and discard the empty Pool Pod.
  11. Use 1 Pool Pod per month to keep pool clean and clear.

FROG 90-Day GoodBye Phos removes and reduces phosphates for 90 days. It’s a dry, concentrated formula that works proactively to keep your pool sparkling and crystal clear.

Most similar products are liquids, which are diluted down and are about 90% water, requiring precise weekly dosing and are prone to spills and stains. FROG Pool Solutions address all these issues with dry Drop ‘n Go pods and less frequent dosing – 90 days for algae prevention and monthly for phosphate and cloudy water protection.

The prefilled pods make application a breeze – just drop in your pool skimmer. FROG 90-Day GoodBye Phos includes 3 pods. Use 1 pod per month.

No, FROG 90-Day GoodBye Phos is meant to remove phosphates and prevent the build-up of phosphates that can create water care isses. For clearing algae outbreaks, you will want to use FROG Algae Gone® . For preventing algae, use FROG 90-Day Algae Barrier®.

3 FROG 90-Day GoodBye Phos Pool Pods

If your pool is already green, you need FROG Algae Gone which is an algaecide that will cure the outbreak. Then, use FROG 90-Day Algae Barrier to prevent future outbreaks. FROG GoodBye Phos will help remove phosphates, which can cause cloudy water.

Innovative FROG Pool Pods are a measure-free, guess-free, stress-free way to maintain your pool. Each thin fabric pod contains a concentrated dry chemical blend designed to easily tackle a specific, common pool problem.

Good News — that “powder” is actually the captured phosphates! When the product binds to phosphates, they turn into a solid (precipitate) and fall to the floor. Simply vacuum this sediment to waster (or filter) to get it out of your pool permanently.

A couple reasons: it can take 24-48 hours for the chemical reaction to fully complete; testing too soon may give a false reading. Also, if phosphates were extremely high (over 2,000 ppb), you may need a second treatment.

Good news — you can swim 30 minutes after use. Be sure your chlorine and pH levels are within range.

Technically yes, but we recommend you allow one ingredient to properly filter into the pool and then add the other. Neither should be used within 2 weeks of using FROG Algae Gone or FROG 90-Day Algae Barrier.

We have included a desiccant packet like those in medicine bottles to ensure the ingredients stay dry so they dissolve properly in the skimmer. When all of the pods are used, simply discard the empty package.

I just tried this product for the first time. Thank to my neighbor's tree my phosphate level was over 1,100. I have a 25,000 gallon pool and this brought me down to 7. Yes 7!! I love that l didn't have to shake a heavy jug like crazy, literally dropped the bag in the skimmer basket and ran the pump 24 hours. Minimal cloudy water, vacuumed dead particles easily. Didn't cause me high pressure in my sand filter either. Zero complaints. I would repurchase to treat and for regular maintenance definitely.
