How to Fix Cloudy Water

  1. Check water balance
Proper balance is required for things to work effectively. If levels are off, adjust using FROG Balancing Basics® Kit.
    • Total Alkalinity: 80–120 ppm
    • pH: 7.2–7.6
    • Total Hardness: 150-250 ppm
  2. Shock
Shock the water with FROG Maintain® for Swim Spas or a non-chlorine shock.
  3. Check the SmartChlor® Cartridge
Remove the SmartChlor Cartridge from your system. Drain and shake to see if you hear any SmartChlor inside. If empty, replace with a new one.
  4. Check the Mineral Cartridge
Even if you hear minerals inside, they may be used up. Replace the blue Mineral Cartridge every 4 months.
  5. Clean the filter
Ensure proper water flow and remove any debris from the hot tub.
