FROG^® BAM^® 90-Day Algae Preventive

General Directions:

Do not use with any other copper based products.

1. Maintain pH of pool water between 7.2-7.8. Adjust the pH to 7.2 for severe algae.
2. Ensure the filtration system is working properly and the filtration cycle is adequate.
3. A regular brushing program will assist in the removal of stubborn algae.
4. While FROG BAM controls algae, it is important that adequate levels of sanitizers (chlorine) be maintained to control bacterial growth.
5. If using directly after a shock treatment, test the water first to ensure the pH is in the proper range of 7.2 to 7.8 and the chlorine level is no more than 4.0 ppm.
6. Avoid adding other chemicals until this product has been circulated (filtered) for at least 24 hours.
7. Before draining a treated pool, contact your local sanitary sewer and storm drain authorities and follow their discharge instructions. Do not discharge treated pool or spa water to any location that flows to a gutter, storm drain or natural water body unless discharge is allowed by state and local authorities.

Directions For Use With Pool FROG Cycler

1. Balance pH: Check water and set the pH between 7.2 and 7.8 (adjust to 7.2 for severe algae). Do not use with any other copper-based products.
2. Check chlorination: If using directly after a shock treatment, test the water first — pH should be 7.2–7.8 and chlorine no higher than 4.0 ppm — before proceeding.
3. Dosage: For preventative use (90-day protection), use one bottle for pools up to 15,000 gallons, or two bottles for 15,000–30,000 gallons. For treating an existing algae problem, double the dose: two bottles up to 15,000 gallons, or four bottles for 15,000–30,000 gallons.
4. Turn off pump: Shut off your pool circulation pump and set the system control dial to the lowest setting.
5. Open it up: Remove the cap from the Pool FROG Cycler. If a FROG Bac Pac is currently inside the Mineral Reservoir, remove and set it aside.
6. Insert bottle: Take the cap off the FROG BAM bottle (leave the foil seal intact) and insert the bottle upside down into the center of the Mineral Reservoir, pushing down firmly to puncture the seal.
7. Circulate: Put the cap back on the System and hand-tighten. Turn the control dial to Maximum, Setting 10, or ON (depending on your model).
8. Run pump: Turn the pool pump on and let it run for 90 minutes so the solution distributes evenly.
9. Remove bottle: Turn the pump off, turn the dial to the lowest setting, open the system and lift out the empty FROG BAM bottle, letting any remaining water drain back through the cycler before discarding.
10. Check for residual color: If water still shows more than a hint of blue inside the system, replace the cap, turn the dial to Maximum/10/ON and run the pump for one minute.
11. If additional bottles are required for your pool size, repeat steps 4–10 for each bottle.
12. Wait on chemicals: Avoid adding other pool chemicals or balancing agents for at least 24 hours after treatment.
13. Insert a Pool FROG Bac Pac, following the directions on its label, to resume regular sanitizing.
14. Before draining a treated pool: Contact your local sanitary sewer and storm drain authorities and follow their discharge instructions. Do not discharge treated water to any location that flows to a gutter, storm drain, or natural water body unless authorized.
